چکیده

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung illness, marked by dyspnea, coughing, and sputum production. Cheonwangbosim-dan (CBD) traditional East Asian medicine, consisting of combination 15 medicinal herbs, which frequently used to treat arterial/auricular flutter, neuroses, cardiac-malfunction-induced diseases, insomnia. The present study evaluated the therapeutic effect CBD (100 or 200 mg/kg) on COPD using mouse model induced cigarette smoke (CS) lipopolysaccharide (LPS). increase in inflammatory cell numbers caused exposure CS LPS was significantly reduced administration. In addition, therapy interleukin-6 (IL-6) tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). tissue, not only levels IL-1β (CBD 100: p < 0.001 200: 0.001), IL-6 TNF-α = 0.005 0.014), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1; 0.018 0.003), but also decreased expression α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA; transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β; matrix metallopeptidase-7 (MMP-7; 0.019 MMP-9 0.015 0.013), tissue inhibitor metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1; 0.035 0.013) compared with group. found suppress phosphorylation nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2), p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (p38 MAPK). Taken together, these findings showed that can attenuate respiratory inflammation airway remodeling LPS, suggesting has probable preventive applications patients COPD.

The effects of anti-Fas ribozyme on T lymphocyte apoptosis in mice model with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective(s): In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of anti-Fas ribozyme on the apoptosis of T lymphocytes (T cells) in mice model with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Materials and Methods: Male 6-week-old C57BL/6 mice were used to establish the COPD model by exposure to cigarette smoke. The COPD mice were sacrificed for spleen dissection and T cell isolation. T cell...

Anti-inflammatory Effects of PMX205 in Mouse Macrophage Periodontitis Model

Background: C5areceptor antagonistPMX205 is a synthetic hexapeptidecapable of blocking C5a-C5a receptor (C5aR) axis by simulating C5a active C-terminal amino acid residues. This hexapeptide presents good anti-inflammatory effects in a myriad inflammation models. The anti-inflammatory effect of PMX205 on periodontitis is yet to be fully fathomed. Objective: To examine the anti-inflammatory effec...

A Study of Acute and Chronic Anti-Nociceptive and Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Thiamine in Mice

Background: Thiamine (VitB1) is a vitamin with various important physiological functions and postulated therapeutic effects.  Its use as an analgesic in neuropathic pain has been undergoing in clinical settings. However, there has been little experimental investigation on this effect. In this study, anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of thiamine were investigated in mice. Methods: T...

Uridine supplementation exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects in an animal model of pulmonary fibrosis

RATIONALE Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive disease with only few treatment options available at the moment. Recently, the nucleoside uridine has been shown to exert anti-inflammatory effects in different animal models, e.g. in acute lung injury or bronchial asthma. METHOD Therefore, we investigated the influence of uridine supplementation on inflammation and fibrosis in the classical bleom...
